Accountability

In ethics and governance, accountability is answerability, blameworthiness, liability, and the expectation of account-giving.

Back of the envelope

Anything completed in a quick, casual manner. Most often references informal calculations made by engineering and finance types.

Batch process

Non-continuous (non-real time) processing of data, instructions, or materials.
In data transmission, batch processing is used for very large files or where a fast response time is not critical. The files to be transmitted are gathered over a period and then send together as a batch.

Brain Dump

A brain dump (sometimes spelled braindump, or brain-dump) is a complete transfer of accessible knowledge about a particular subject from your brain to some other storage medium, such as paper or your computer’s hard drive.

Bullpen

The slang term given to an area where junior employees are all grouped closely together in a single room, while more senior employees graduate to more spacious work arrangements or individual offices.

Buy-in

To agree with a particular position. “How can we get management buy-in on this idea?”
